It is very important the tooth is properly restored after the root canal treatment. In most cases this will involve a crown (also called a cap). This will protect the tooth from cracking in the long-term (research has shown that an uncrowned root-filled tooth has a four times greater chance of cracking). Your referring dentist will usually organise the placement of the crown or final restoration.
Yes. For most root canal treatments, we recommend that patients return to our office six months after the procedure is finished to confirm healing is proceeding satisfactorily. Depending on the your particular case, we generally follow up healing around your tooth for two years. Our office will send a reminder notice to you when you are due for a recall appointment.
We are a referral-based practice. This usually means that you will need to see your general dentist and obtain a referral. Once this has been received, your referral will be assessed by one of our endodontists to gauge the length of appointment required. Our reception team will then call you to schedule a suitable time.
Once an appointment has been scheduled, we will provide you with your own Password and ID to enable you to login to the PATIENT LOGIN area of our website and process your registration. This registration process includes your medical history and current medications. When done online this allows you the time to complete these details at a convenient time without having to rush. On arrival we only need you to allow about 10 minutes to confirm details at our reception desk, amend anything if required and provide a digital signature.
